Conflict Resolution Soft Skills VR Training

Project Name: Micro-credential VR Experience

Client: NorQuest College

Project Overview:

The client asked us to develop a VR application for a micro-credentialing course in AR and VR. The course includes a scenario
where a Therapy Assistant must navigate professional boundaries, assertiveness, and scope of practice when pressured by a supervisor
to perform a task outside their expertise. Traditionally presented as a 2D video, this VR experience enhances immersion,
allowing students to witness the interpersonal dynamics firsthand and reflect on ethical decision-making in a controlled environment.

Devices:

  • Meta Quest 3

  • Meta Quest 3s

Challenges and Solutions:

Challenge #1: Ensuring Accuracy and Effectiveness under Time Constraints
The scenario required input from a subject matter expert (SME) to ensure it accurately reflected real-world challenges in healthcare.
Additionally, we were working under a tight timeline to complete the project for this client.

Solution:
The client, who was also the SME, personally wrote the script and shaped the scenario, ensuring the content was authentic and relevant.
Despite the time constraints, we worked closely with the client to refine the scenario in an efficient manner, ensuring the final product
was both accurate and effective while meeting the project deadlines.

Results & Impact:

The result was a 13 minute VR experience deployed on a Meta Quest 3 that has been successfully integrated into
NorQuest College’s micro-credentialing curriculum. It provides a structured, immersive learning environment for students
to explore professional boundaries and ethical decision-making.
